The Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge is two weeks of fun, intense filmmaking here in LA open to anyone--specifically designed so that even people with full-time work can easily participate!

We will showcase this year’s best films at the Harmony Gold Theatre in Hollywood, where some of Hollywood’s brightest creative minds, such as Tim Minear, Michael Weithorn, and Kurt Loder will watch and review the films, awarding the $5000 top prize! The audience favorite will receive $1500, as will the winner of the Key Collaborator Award, an individual prize given out to the person who contributes most to the efforts of his/her fellow filmmakers

So how does it work? At the beginning of the contest, the CFC will announce the filmmaking theme, which all filmmakers will express through their films.

The contest runs for two weeks, with all participants working in randomly assigned teams of two: one filmmaker and one collaborator. You’ll have a turn at each: one week you’ll make your own film, and the other week you’ll help your teammate make his or hers.

There are no scheduled obligations outside of our orientation on Thursday, May 24th. That’s why it’s so easy for anyone to do—you’re in charge because it’s YOUR film!

What’s the catch? It’s simple, really. One, you’ve got to submit an application and $35 registration fee. Two, you must be able to commit to BOTH weeks of filmmaking in Los Angeles—anyone who doesn’t complete the two weeks will have their film disqualified.

Reminder: The filmmaking dates are 5/30-6/12, and the screening will take place on Friday, June 22nd.

Don’t procrastinate! The first five people to see this email and sign up will get their $35 registration fee refunded after the challenge is completed!

Not quite sure about something? Email us now at info@collaborationchallenge.com! We’ll hold your free spot until we have a chance to answer all your questions.
